Thrifty Car Rental, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: DTG), is giving travel agents cause to rejoice … by rewarding them with a 20 percent discount on their next car rental.
Open to travel agents in the U.S. and Canada at all Thrifty Car Rental locations in the U.S. and Canada, the non-commissionable discount is for agents with an official IATAN or IATA card. To receive the discount, agents should print out the “20% discount” coupon available at http://www.agent.thrifty.com. In order to receive the discount, simply make your reservation and bring the coupon along with a valid IATAN or IATA card to the car rental counter and the discount will be applied.

Avis Celebrates Summer Rentals

Avis Rent A Car today announced that it is helping customers enjoy the ride with the very best of summer literature and music available free, just for renting from Avis.
Now through September 30, 2008, customers who rent for five or more days can download a free eMusic audiobook in addition to 10 free songs. Renters can choose from books by popular authors, including John Grisham, Elizabeth Gilbert and David Sedaris, or classics from Charles Dickens, Mark Twain and Jane Austen, or select from more than 3.5 million music tracks.
Avis will also distribute free “Avis Music Cables” to renters which will enable customers to listen to their MP3 players through the sound system in most rental vehicles. The cords plug into any standard portable audio player headphone jack and work on most MP3 players. The cables will be available at select airport locations in the United States through September 30, 2008, while supplies last.
